TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last updated: 1 August 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions apply to visits, table reservations, food and drink purchases, private and semi-private bookings, venue hire, bottomless brunch bookings, promotions, ticketed events and other services provided by The Residence Bar & Kitchen. The Residence Bar & Kitchen is operated by CK Foods Limited.

In these terms, “The Residence”, “the venue”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Residence Bar & Kitchen and its operating company. “Guest”, “customer”, “you” and “your” refer to the person making a booking, visiting the venue or purchasing our products or services.

By entering the venue, making a booking, purchasing a ticket, paying a deposit or taking part in an offer, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Certain bookings, events, packages and promotions may have additional conditions. Where additional written conditions are supplied during the booking or purchasing process, those conditions will apply alongside these terms. If there is a conflict, the specific written terms provided for that booking, event or promotion will take priority. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

2. Opening Hours and Availability

Our published opening hours may change for private events, seasonal periods, bank holidays, maintenance, licensing requirements or other operational reasons.

Opening hours, kitchen hours, entertainment schedules and last-entry times may differ. Guests should check the latest information on our website, booking platform or social media pages before travelling.

Admission and service remain subject to availability, licensing conditions, capacity limits and management discretion.

3. Admission to the Venue

Entry to The Residence is not guaranteed solely because a guest has made a table reservation, purchased a ticket or joined a group booking.

We may refuse entry or ask a guest to leave where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • The venue has reached its safe or licensed capacity.

  • The guest cannot provide acceptable proof of age when requested.

  • The guest appears excessively intoxicated.

  • The guest behaves aggressively, abusively, threateningly or inappropriately.

  • The guest harasses staff, performers, contractors or other customers.

  • The guest is suspected of possessing or using illegal drugs.

  • The guest brings alcohol, dangerous items or prohibited substances into the venue.

  • The guest refuses to comply with reasonable instructions from management, security or venue staff.

  • Admission would breach licensing, safety or legal requirements.

  • The guest’s conduct may place people, property or the venue’s licence at risk.

Where entry is refused or a guest is removed because of their own conduct, intoxication, failure to provide identification or breach of these terms, no refund will normally be provided.

We may conduct reasonable security checks or ask guests to allow bags and belongings to be checked as a condition of entry.

4. Children and Guests Under 18

Guests under the age of 18 must be appropriately supervised by a responsible adult unless management has expressly agreed otherwise.

The following venue policies apply:

  • Guests aged under 18 may not be permitted to remain in the venue after 8:00 pm, unless this has been agreed in advance with the management team.

These rules may be varied for private functions, family events or other circumstances where prior written approval has been given by management.

Earlier restrictions may apply during particular events, late-night sessions or where required by our premises licence, event risk assessment or security arrangements.

The parent, guardian or responsible adult accompanying a child remains responsible for the child’s behaviour, supervision and safety while at the venue.

5. Alcohol, Proof of Age and Responsible Service

Alcohol will not be sold to anyone under the age of 18.

The Residence operates an age-verification policy. Guests who appear to be under 25 may be asked to provide valid photographic identification before purchasing or consuming alcohol.

Acceptable identification will normally include:

  • A valid passport.

  • A valid UK photocard driving licence.

  • A valid proof-of-age card carrying the PASS hologram.

Photographs, photocopies or digital images of identification may not be accepted.

We reserve the right to refuse the sale or continued service of alcohol where:

  • Acceptable identification is not provided.

  • A guest appears intoxicated.

  • We believe alcohol may be passed to someone under 18.

  • Continued service may be unsafe or unlawful.

  • A guest is behaving inappropriately.

  • Refusal is necessary to comply with licensing responsibilities.

Purchasing alcohol for someone under 18 is prohibited, except where expressly permitted by law. Guests must not share alcoholic promotional products with anyone under 18.

6. Table Reservations

A booking enquiry does not constitute a confirmed reservation. A reservation becomes confirmed only when we or our authorised booking provider issue confirmation and any required authentication, deposit or advance payment has been completed.

When making a booking, you must provide accurate contact details and inform us of:

  • The correct number of guests.

  • Any accessibility requirements.

  • Any allergies or dietary requirements.

  • Whether children or guests under 18 will attend.

  • Any special occasion or event requirements.

  • Any requested changes to the normal table layout or service.

Tables are allocated according to availability, party size and operational requirements. We cannot guarantee a particular table, booth, room or location unless this has been expressly confirmed in writing.

We may adjust the table or area allocated to your party where reasonably necessary, while aiming to provide an appropriate alternative.

7. Arrival Times, Late Arrivals and No-Shows

Guests should arrive at the confirmed booking time.

Where a party is late and has not contacted us, we may release the table or reduce the length of the booking where necessary to accommodate later reservations.

We will try to accommodate late arrivals, but this cannot be guaranteed. The original finishing time may continue to apply, particularly for timed packages, bottomless brunches and event bookings.

Failure to attend without providing appropriate notice may result in the loss of a deposit, advance payment or booking authentication amount, subject to the booking terms provided at confirmation and applicable consumer law.

8. Deposits, Card Authentication and Advance Payments

Some reservations may require:

  • Payment-card authentication.

  • A deposit.

  • An advance payment.

  • Full prepayment.

  • A minimum-spend commitment.

  • A venue hire fee.

The applicable requirement will be explained before the booking is confirmed.

A card authentication may temporarily reserve or verify an amount without immediately taking payment. A charge may be made in circumstances explained during the booking process, including a no-show, late cancellation or material reduction in guest numbers.

Deposits and advance payments will be handled in accordance with the cancellation conditions supplied for the particular booking.

Any cancellation charge or retained payment will be reasonable and will take account of circumstances such as costs already incurred, notice provided, services already delivered and our ability to resell the booking.

9. Changes and Cancellations by Customers

Requests to amend or cancel a booking must be made using the contact details supplied in the booking confirmation.

Changes are subject to availability and are not confirmed until accepted by us in writing.

A material reduction in guest numbers may affect:

  • The table or space allocated.

  • The minimum-spend requirement.

  • The package price.

  • Staffing or security arrangements.

  • Food quantities already ordered.

  • Any deposit or cancellation charge.

Cancellation periods and charges may vary according to the nature and value of the booking. Private hire, large parties, pre-ordered food, special events and exclusive-use bookings may have stricter cancellation conditions than ordinary table reservations.

We will provide relevant cancellation conditions during confirming bookings that require a financial commitment.

Where catering, venue hire, entertainment or leisure services are booked for a specific date or period, a general 14-day cooling-off right may not apply. This does not affect any cancellation rights expressly provided in your booking confirmation or required by law.

10. Changes and Cancellations by The Residence

We may need to alter, postpone or cancel a booking or event because of circumstances including:

  • Safety or security concerns.

  • Licensing restrictions.

  • Severe weather.

  • Utility, equipment or building failure.

  • Illness or unavailability of performers.

  • Government, police or local-authority requirements.

  • Events outside our reasonable control.

  • Insufficient information or payment from the organiser.

  • A serious breach of the agreed booking terms.

Where we cancel a prepaid service and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, we will offer an appropriate rescheduling option, credit, substitute or refund in accordance with the booking conditions and applicable law.

We will not be responsible for additional or indirect expenses such as travel, accommodation, clothing, external entertainment or third-party supplier costs unless required by law.

11. Group Bookings, Parties and Venue Hire

Party bookings, corporate events, private dining and venue hire are subject to availability and written confirmation.

Depending on the date, time, space and expected revenue, a booking may operate through:

  • A minimum-spend commitment.

  • A venue hire fee.

  • A per-person package.

  • A combination of these arrangements.

Where a minimum spend applies, it means the agreed amount that the party must spend on eligible food and beverages during the confirmed booking period. Unless agreed otherwise, any difference between actual eligible spending and the agreed minimum spend may become payable by the organiser.

Hire charges, minimum spends and package prices may differ according to:

  • The day and time.

  • The area or areas reserved.

  • The number of guests.

  • The length of the booking.

  • Entertainment requirements.

  • Additional staffing or security.

  • Licensing or late-opening requirements.

  • Seasonal or high-demand dates.

The lead organiser is responsible for ensuring that all members of the party understand and comply with these terms.

Final guest numbers may be required by a date stated in the booking confirmation. Charges may be based on the confirmed number where food, staffing or other services have already been arranged.

12. Damage, Cleaning and Guest Conduct at Private Events

The organiser is responsible for the reasonable conduct of their guests and any contractors or suppliers they engage.

The organiser may be charged for reasonable costs arising from:

  • Deliberate or negligent damage.

  • Damage to furniture, equipment, decorations or venue property.

  • Exceptional cleaning.

  • Unauthorised alterations to the venue.

  • Removal of venue property.

  • Breach of agreed entertainment, decoration or supplier conditions.

Any such charge will reflect the reasonable cost of cleaning, repair, replacement or loss suffered.

Decorations must not be attached to walls, ceilings, fixtures or furniture without approval. Confetti, glitter, smoke effects, open flames, candles, adhesives and similar items require prior written permission.

Nothing may obstruct fire exits, access routes, safety equipment or CCTV.

13. External Suppliers, Entertainment and Decorations

External DJs, performers, decorators, photographers, caterers and other suppliers require prior approval.

We may request relevant information including:

  • Public liability insurance.

  • Electrical safety documentation.

  • Equipment details.

  • Setup and collection times.

  • Risk assessments.

  • Music or performance requirements.

  • Supplier contact details.

Approval of an external supplier does not make that supplier our employee, agent or subcontractor. The customer remains responsible for arrangements and payments made directly with the supplier.

All entertainment must comply with licensing conditions, noise controls, agreed finishing times and reasonable instructions from management.

Food or drink purchased outside the venue must not be brought in or consumed without prior written approval. Birthday cakes or exceptional external catering arrangements must be agreed with management in advance.

14. Food, Menus and Availability

Menus, ingredients, portion sizes, presentation, brands and prices may change according to availability, seasonal changes and supplier conditions.

Images used online or in promotional materials are illustrative. Presentation may vary.

Certain dishes, drinks, packages or ingredients may be unavailable. Where this happens, we may offer a reasonable alternative.

Food may be served as it becomes ready, particularly where dishes are designed for sharing. Guests should inform the team if they require a particular service arrangement.

15. Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Guests must inform us of allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements before ordering and, where possible, when making the booking.

Our food and beverages are prepared and stored in areas where allergens are present. Although our team will provide available allergen information and take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of traces resulting from shared preparation, storage or service areas. Menu descriptions may not list every ingredient.

Guests with allergies or intolerances should speak directly with a member of staff before ordering and should not rely solely on menu symbols or general descriptions.

Dietary symbols such as vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free describe the intended ingredients or recipe. They do not necessarily guarantee that cross-contact cannot occur.

16. Prices, Payments and Service Charges

Prices are those displayed on the current menu, booking confirmation, ticket page or written proposal at the time of purchase, subject to correction of obvious errors.

Prices include VAT where applicable unless clearly stated otherwise.

We accept the payment methods available at the venue or through the relevant booking provider. We may refuse damaged, suspicious or unauthorised payment methods.

A discretionary service charge may be applied to bookings of more than six guests. As the charge is discretionary, guests may ask for it to be removed or adjusted.

For group bookings, we may restrict the number of separate bills or payment transactions where splitting the bill would significantly delay service.

17. General Promotion, Discount and Offer Conditions

Unless a promotion expressly states otherwise, the following conditions apply to all promotions, discounts, complimentary items, competitions, vouchers and special offers:

  1. The person redeeming the promotion must be aged 18 or over.

  2. Proof of age may be required.

  3. Promotions are available only during the dates, times and operating hours stated.

  4. Promotions are subject to availability.

  5. Promotions apply only to eligible products and services identified by us.

  6. Promotions, discounts and offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, discount, voucher, package, special price or offer.

  7. Only one offer may be used per transaction, table or party unless expressly stated otherwise.

  8. Promotions have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

  9. Promotions cannot normally be transferred, resold or retrospectively applied to a completed purchase.

  10. Promotional items must not be shared with anyone who does not meet the eligibility requirements.

  11. Management may request reasonable evidence that the applicable conditions have been satisfied.

  12. Availability on previous occasions does not guarantee future availability.

Management reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw a promotion before redemption where reasonably necessary, including because of stock availability, licensing requirements, safety concerns, pricing or advertising errors, suspected misuse, technical problems, exceptional circumstances or events outside our reasonable control.

Management may refuse or discontinue redemption where:

  • The promotion’s conditions have not been met.

  • The promotion has expired.

  • The guest is not eligible.

  • Required identification is not provided.

  • The offer is being misused, duplicated or transferred improperly.

  • There is a genuine pricing, printing or technical error.

  • Eligible stock is unavailable.

  • Continued alcohol service would be unsafe or unlawful.

  • A guest breaches these Terms and Conditions.

  • Fulfilling the offer would breach licensing, legal or safety requirements.

Where a customer has already paid specifically for a promotion that we are unable to provide, we will consider an appropriate substitute, rescheduling, credit or refund in accordance with the specific promotion terms and applicable law.

These rights do not affect completed purchases or a customer’s statutory rights.

18. Wine Wednesday Promotion

The following conditions apply to the Wine Wednesday promotion:

  • The promotion is available exclusively on Wednesdays during our normal operating hours.

  • The promotion is available only to dine-in customers consuming their order at The Residence.

  • The promotion is not available for takeaway, collection or delivery.

  • The promotion is not available on special dates, selected seasonal dates, ticketed events, themed events, private functions or other excluded dates identified by management.

  • Special or excluded dates may include public holidays, Valentine’s celebrations, Christmas events, New Year celebrations and other high-demand or specially programmed dates.

  • A maximum of three bottles of wine per party, per visit may be redeemed under the promotion, regardless of the number of guests in the party.

  • Separate tables, bills or transactions cannot be used to avoid the three-bottle limit where guests form part of the same party.

  • All guests redeeming or consuming alcoholic products through the promotion must be aged 18 or over.

  • Valid proof of age may be required.

  • The promotion applies only to wines included in the offer at the time of redemption.

  • Wines are subject to availability. A particular wine, grape, vintage or bottle is not guaranteed.

  • The promotion cannot be combined with another promotion, discount, voucher, package or special offer.

  • There is no cash alternative.

  • Bottles purchased through the promotion must not be supplied to guests under 18.

  • Alcohol will be served responsibly, and management may refuse or discontinue service where required for safety or licensing reasons.

Management may amend, suspend or withdraw Wine Wednesday in accordance with the general promotional conditions above.

19. Bottomless Brunch

Bottomless brunch is a timed promotional experience and is subject to advance booking, availability and the terms shown on the booking page or menu.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • All participating guests must be aged 18 or over.

  • Valid photographic identification may be required.

  • Bottomless service lasts for 120 minutes from the confirmed booking start time, not from the time of the first beverage.

  • Late arrival does not normally extend the finishing time.

  • All participating guests at the table must select the same package.

  • Packages cannot be mixed and matched at the same table.

  • Promotional beverages must not be shared with non-participating guests.

  • Drinks may be served only after the previous drink has been substantially consumed.

  • Service frequency and pace remain subject to responsible-service requirements and staff discretion.

  • Guests must not attempt to stockpile drinks.

  • Management may slow, pause or stop alcoholic service where a guest appears intoxicated or continued service would be unsafe or unlawful.

  • No refund will be provided where service is stopped because of a guest’s intoxication, conduct or breach of these terms.

  • Food and beverage choices are subject to availability.

  • Bottomless brunch cannot be combined with another promotion or discount unless expressly stated.

The package is not an entitlement to unlimited or unsafe consumption. All alcohol will be served in accordance with licensing obligations and responsible-retailing practices.

20. Ticketed Events and Entertainment

Tickets are subject to the conditions shown at the time of purchase and any terms imposed by the authorised ticketing provider.

Event schedules, performers, DJs, menus, entertainment and running times may change where reasonably necessary.

A change to supporting performers, timings or the running order will not automatically entitle the ticket holder to a refund where the main nature of the event remains substantially the same.

Where an event is cancelled or materially changed, available options will be communicated to affected ticket holders in accordance with the event-specific conditions and applicable law.

Booking fees charged by third-party ticket platforms may be subject to the platform’s own refund conditions.

Guests must comply with event-specific age restrictions, admission times, dress requirements and identification rules displayed before purchase.

21. Live Music and Venue Environment

The Residence regularly hosts live music, DJs, private celebrations and other entertainment. As a result, the venue may be busy, lively and loud, particularly during evenings and weekends.

Entertainment schedules may change without notice because of performer availability, operational requirements or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

A table reservation does not guarantee an uninterrupted view of a performer, access to a dance floor or seating in a particular entertainment area unless expressly confirmed.

Guests should speak to our team in advance regarding accessibility, sensory or seating requirements, and we will consider reasonable adjustments where possible.

22. Smoking and Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue.

Guests may smoke or vape only in designated outdoor areas and must follow staff or security instructions.

Guests leaving the venue to smoke may be subject to re-entry controls, identification checks, capacity restrictions and closing times.

23. Personal Belongings and Lost Property

Guests remain responsible for their coats, bags, phones, jewellery and other personal belongings.

We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where caused by our negligence or where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Lost property should be reported as soon as possible. We may dispose of unclaimed property after a reasonable period, taking account of the nature and value of the item.

24. Photography, Filming and CCTV

CCTV may operate in and around the venue for safety, security, crime prevention and licensing purposes.

Photography or filming may take place during public events, entertainment or promotional activity. Where organised filming is planned, we will take reasonable steps to notify guests.

Guests who do not wish to be included in identifiable promotional photography should inform a member of the management team.

Professional or commercial photography and filming require prior permission.

Personal information, CCTV and marketing data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

25. Accessibility and Reasonable Adjustments

We aim to make our venue and services accessible and inclusive.

Guests requiring reasonable adjustments should contact us before visiting where possible, particularly for large bookings or events.

We will consider reasonable requests based on the guest’s needs, the venue layout, safety requirements and what is reasonably practicable.

26. Website Use

Information on our website is provided for general information and booking purposes.

We aim to keep information accurate but cannot guarantee that every menu item, price, event, performer, operating time or availability statement will always be current.

We may correct obvious errors and update website content without notice.

Website content, branding, photographs, menus, designs and written materials belong to The Residence or the relevant rights holder. They must not be copied, republished or used commercially without permission.

Links to third-party booking, ticketing or social-media websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party website content or technical availability.

27. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

  • Breach of statutory consumer rights.

  • Any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to the above, we will not be liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the booking was made, or for business losses arising from a consumer booking.

Corporate and business customers may be subject to additional written contractual conditions.

28. Circumstances Outside Our Control

We will not be responsible for delay, disruption or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

These may include severe weather, flooding, fire, utility failure, equipment breakdown, transport disruption, performer illness, industrial action, public-health measures, acts of government, police instructions, licensing restrictions or other emergencies.

Where such circumstances materially affect a prepaid booking, we will act reasonably and consider rescheduling, credit, substitution or refund options as appropriate.

29. Complaints and Feedback

Guests should raise concerns with the duty manager during their visit whenever possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve the matter promptly.

After the visit, complaints may be submitted to:

Email: mk@trbmk.co.uk
Telephone: 01908 764908

Please include the booking name, date, approximate time and details of the issue.

We aim to review complaints fairly and may request further information where necessary.

30. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in our services, promotions, booking arrangements, legal responsibilities or operational requirements.

The version in force when a booking is confirmed will normally apply to that booking, together with any specific conditions supplied at confirmation.

Updated terms will be published on our website with a revised “Last updated” date.

31. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights allowing a consumer to bring proceedings in another appropriate part of the United Kingdom.
